That is really depends on package code and not always works well.
And, there is an ability to hot-reload your code when you use webpack-dev-server.
There are always limitations, so we strongly recommend to reload the page.

In your case(viewer), there is no ability to refresh the code without page refresh.
You can always redeploy your package, but in most cases new code will be loaded only after page refresh.

Well. I’m fine using the new UI knowing its hidden features like double-click on a menu item. BTW guys are you targeting mobile users?

Datagrok will work in Chrome Mobile, but it will be very inconvenient on small screen and with no mouse.
It’s definitely not our primary goal to deliver same user experience on mobile devices as on the desktop.
