Hi Datagrok team,
I would like to suggest improving the jittering function in the scatter plot by separating it into distinct x-jittering and y-jittering options. It is because the current version applies jittering both horizontally and vertically simultaneously, which can lead to inaccuracies in numerical values (in categorical value, jittering doesn’t effect meaning of the value though.)
I hope this suggestion helps other customers as well.
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
Best regards,
Kosuke
Hi Kosuke,
Thank you, as always, for your valuable suggestion! Our team is already considering the implementation with backward compatibility. We will keep you updated on this matter.
I am happy to hear that. Besides, I am looking forward to fixing it.
Best,
Kosuke
Hi Kosuke,
I’m happy to share that we’ve added an option to apply jittering exclusively to the Y-axis in the scatterplot. This setting will be available in release version 1.25.0.
Dear Olena,
Thank you for your wonderful feedback. I am so happy to see adding a new function for y-axis jittering.
I guess that Jitter Size
corrensponds to X axis, and Jitter Size Y
does to Y axis.
I am looking forward to trying it with next version.
Best,
Kosuke
Dear Kosuke,
You are right: Jitter Size
primarily affects the X axis when Jitter Size Y
is set. However, if Jitter Size Y
is null, Jitter Size
affects both axes.
Best,
Olena
Thanks for clarification. It’s nice feature that can be utilized easily.
